Wine Pop Tab Purse progress part 2

I have almost finished all the pieces and getting ready for assembly.  I also went last night to go get the material for the liner.  I loved the material I found it matches the thread perfectly.  I am having troubles deciding on what color plastic canvas to use.  I got some red but I think its to bright as it does not match the thread.  I have some leftover black from the last purse.

I should have this built by this weekend need to get a liner built.  This is coming along a lot faster than the black one I just finished.  Good thing I have some Christmas presents to finish.

Another Pop Tab Purse

Here we go again!!  I got an order to make another smaller messenger bag but this time in Wine thread color.  I should have the thread in this afternoon and start making the bag tonight.  I think I can cut down the time on this one and start getting quicker at them.  On a side note I have a few more Christmas presents to make as well so I need to get going and fast.

I will post pictures as the purse and my Christmas presents progress.

Knitted Hunting Hat

Well my husband has finally asked me to knit something for him. YAY!!  He wants a nice hat for his duck hunting trips.  I am working the same pattern as the pumpkin hat I made for my son but with out the stem.  I found a nice camo-ish color called Little Rock Granite from Lions Brand hometown USA.  Now to finish it before his next big trip.  I just got it finished and right before his hunt today.  I ran out of yarn so added the black to get it finished for him.  He said he was really warm and had no issues with his line of site or hunting.  I think I will make another but get enough yarn and maybe add some ribbing so it does not curl up at the bottom.  Note: I used the Youth instructions on the hat and double pointed needles since I did not have circular in the right size.

Here is the finished hat.

Pop Tab Purse Progress

I have gotten really close to getting to the point of putting the purse all together.  I have finished all the panels boarders and currently working on finishing out the straps padding stitches.  I actually crocheted my fingers numb the other night.  I am sitting at about 18 hours total and still need to put the panels together and build a liner.

I added some plastic canvas to the bottom and sides of the purse to help it stand up(mine slouches)

First Craft Fair Experience

I went to help a friend with her craft fair this weekend and that was fun times.  I took my purse order and started work on that.  Here are some progress pictures from the process.  This was a black messenger type bag.

Took about 4 hours to prepare the tabs to be crafted about 1900 in total. I need to find a way to cut that time down a bit.

It averages about 1.5 hours to 2 to make each sheet.  Here is the first one.

The second.

The third and last big sheet.  I am up to 10 hours total time to this point.

I still have two sides one bottom panel and the strap to work on.  As well as going around each panel with stitches to prepare for putting them together.  I will also line this purse with black fabric.  I am hoping to finish the three smaller panels today and get working on the rounds to put them together.  I will keep posting progress as I make it.

Been a week Gosh..

It has been a busy week!  Been getting ready for a friends craft fair, whipping up some duct tape stuff for her booth.  I Finally got a good inventory for her so much much in the way of new projects...EXCEPT I know its late for Halloween but I knitted a cute little pumpkin hat for my son.  Of course he will not wear it but its still cute.  I got the pattern here it was free.

http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/free-simple-chunky-pumpkin-hat-newborn-thru-adult

Used Lion Brand Hometown USA.

It worked up pretty quick and was easy to do.  I knitted it on DP needles since I did not have the circular that the pattern called for.

In other news I have a custom order for a pop tab purse!!!  Its like the orange one shown in my previous post but they would like it in black with a messenger bag cover flap.  I started the preparation for that today.  I will post progress pictures of the process.

Happy Halloween!!

I thought I would use Halloween as a time to actually introduce myself.  I am a 31 Year old wife/mother of a 2 year old boy.  My husband and I have been married 4 years together for 13.  My son is a hoot and keeps me pretty busy.  I work full time and use my little spare time for my crafts.  I try to do some sort of craft every day but it is hard with my busy schedule.  I am a self taught knitter who did nothing but scarves for many years.  I got brave about 3 years ago and started to learn to read patterns and charts.  Last fall I found the Duck(t) tape bug and have been doing that ever since.  About 5 months ago I got a book to learn how to crochet; a week later I watched a YouTube video which jump started my crochet.  I made two crochet pop tab purses.  One was exact to what the YouTube video tutorial and one I worked up to my specifications.

Creatividades100 is awesome and has a ton of great tutorials.

Friends!

I was felling a bit under the weather and did not make it to our girls night Monday.  Tuesday morning I was greeted with this.

I truly have great friends.  Cami got me these flowers and a beautiful card with message attached, made me feel so loved.  Tiffany offered to bring me soup!!  What did I do right to deserve friends so good.

October Projects

October!

October is one of my favorite months of the year!  It also seems to jump start my crafting bug.  I have been working on many things this month. Here is a small list of what I am working on.

I started knitting a sweater.

I am using the free pattern found here:  http://www.yarnspirations.com/pattern/knitting/argyle-sweater-0

I used the yarn specified in the pattern BERNAT® SUPER VALUE but instead of the dark gray I used black, white trim and pink for the argyle pattern.  I think I am about half way up the front panel.

Cowls

I have finished two chunky cowls.  I found the pattern here:  http://laurendahl.com/free-knitting-pattern-two-hour-cowl/

They were really quick and fun to work. I found myself wanting to do a few more for quick and easy Christmas presents.

My duct tape addiction continues.

I started making women's wallets, bi-fold wallets and flower pens again.

That is just a few of my projects I will have more updates later!

Welcome to my crafting world.

Welcome to my crafting world.

I wanted to start this blog to have a place to post all of my projects.  I am a self taught in knitting, crochet, and pick up various crafts between projects.  This is my first time blogging so I will keep it short.  Here is my latest creation in progress.  I will be adding more post later of past projects or works in progress.

I am working on a variation of a standard Chevron crochet blanket. I will add pictures along the way to show progress.  Here is what I got done over the weekend.
